Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about ordering from The Gourmet Variety, delivery, payments, returns and our products.
Orders & Delivery
How long does it take to process my order?
Orders are normally processed within 1–3 business days, Monday to Friday excluding UK bank holidays. Processing may occasionally take longer during busy periods or due to circumstances outside our control.
How long does UK delivery take?
Standard UK delivery normally takes 3–7 business days after dispatch. Delivery times are estimates and may be affected by carrier delays, public holidays or other circumstances outside our control.
How much does UK shipping cost?
Standard UK delivery is £5.99 per order. The delivery charge is shown at checkout before payment is completed.
Do you ship internationally?
We ship to a range of international destinations. Available destinations, shipping options and charges are shown at checkout after you enter your delivery address. International orders may be subject to customs duties, taxes or import charges imposed by the destination country.
Can I track my order?
Where tracking is available, we will provide tracking information after dispatch. Please allow time for the carrier's tracking system to update.
Can products from the same order arrive separately?
Yes. Some products may be fulfilled and dispatched by trusted third-party suppliers on our behalf, so items from the same order may occasionally arrive in separate parcels or at different times.
What should I do if my order has not arrived?
If your order has not arrived within the expected timeframe, please contact us and include your order number so we can investigate.
Payments
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept the secure payment methods displayed at checkout, including Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay where available.
Is my payment secure?
Payments are processed securely through our Shopify checkout. Please never send payment card details by email or through our contact form.
Returns, Cancellations & Refunds
Can I cancel my order?
If your order has not yet been dispatched, contact us as soon as possible. We will do our best to assist, although we cannot guarantee that an order can be stopped once processing or fulfilment has begun. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Can I return my order?
For eligible online purchases, notify us within 14 days of receiving your goods. You then have a further 14 days to return them. Eligible food products must remain unopened and sealed; exceptions apply to rapidly perishable goods and certain unsealed goods. Contact us before returning anything so we can provide the correct return address. See our Refund Policy for full conditions.
What if an item arrives damaged, incorrect or faulty?
Please contact us as soon as possible with your order number, details of the issue and, where appropriate, clear photographs. We will review the information and advise you on the next steps. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.
How are refunds issued?
When a refund is due, it will normally be returned to the original payment method. The time taken for the funds to appear can depend on your bank or payment provider.
Products
Are all your products organic or vegan?
Not necessarily. Product characteristics vary across our range. Claims such as organic or vegan apply only where stated on the individual product page and supported by the relevant product information.
Where can I find ingredients and allergen information?
Please check the individual product information and physical product label. If you have a food allergy or intolerance, carefully review the allergen information before purchasing and always check the packaging before consumption, as ingredients or manufacturing information can change.
Can product packaging differ from the website images?
Yes. Manufacturers and suppliers may occasionally update packaging, labels or presentation. Always check the information on the physical product before consumption.
Microgreens & Sprouting
Do you sell products for both microgreens and sprouting?
Yes. We offer microgreen and sprouting seeds as well as growing products and kits. Please check each product page for the specific contents, seed variety and growing information.
What is the difference between a microgreens kit and a sprouting kit?
Microgreens are generally grown on a growing medium and harvested as young shoots, while sprouts are typically grown by germinating suitable seeds with water. Follow the instructions supplied with the specific kit or product you purchase.
